Heavy rain may cause difficulties and cause the paths to become dangerous at some stages of the trek. Day 1: Hanoi Arrival

Welcome to Vietnam. Arriving at Noi Bai International Airport, our guide and driver will greet and pick you up at the hotel at the heart of the Hanoi capital. Hanoi, the antique and dynamic city of Vietnam, reserves a unique old-world charm and several of the most striking colonial architecture in Asia. After the checking-in, Take relax on your own and do a briefing itinerary with our guide for the coming days. enjoy a cyclo ride through the bustling streets in the Old Quarter to discover the ancient and modern beauty of Hanoi. After the tour, you will be warmly welcome with a special welcoming dinner in a typical Vietnamese food restaurant. Stay overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2: Hanoi – Express Night Train To Lao Cai

After breakfast, you will visit the Ho Chi Minh complex, starting at the President’s Mausoleum. You continue to his humble “house on stilts”, see the French colonial Presidential Palace from the outside and the 11th-century One-Pillar Pagoda. Following is a visit to the Temple of Literature– the first university of Vietnam built in the 11th century. Next is a visit to the Museum of Ethnology, which gives an excellent overview of the country's ethnic groups, customs, and ways of life. The highlight here is the large, beautiful outdoor area featuring genuine houses and compounds as built and used by the many different ethnic groups. You then drive to Hanoi Center and explore the lively Old Quarter of Hanoi. This bustling heart in Hanoi has been a commercial center since King Ly Thai To built his palace there in the 11th century. Skilled craftsmen started to migrate and artisan guilds were formed on the famous "36 Streets". Previously, each street carried the name of the item produced and sold there, and many still have the same names. This is a place you must see to experience Hanoi, where you will find shopping and cultural/historical sites all wrapped into one. The rest of the day is free at leisure until transfer to the train station to board your overnight train to Lao Cai. Overnight on train
 
Note: Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum opens in the morning only and closes on Mondays & Fridays and the whole months of September & October for annual maintenance. Ho Chi Minh’s house-on-stilts is closed on Monday & Friday afternoons. Most of Hanoi’s museums also close on Mondays, except the Museum of Vietnam Women & Museum of Vietnam Fine Arts

Day 3: Bac Ha – Lung Phin – Ta Chai – Pa Chu Ty II

You will be greeted by our team at Lao Cai Train station and then transferred to Bac ha. Your trek start from Lung Phinh market to Ta Chai village, home of the Fula minority. Arrive later afternoon at the Hmong ethnic minority village of Pa Chu Ty II, our destination for overnight. The villages are unused to the presence of foreigners so we are encouraged to tread gently. The accommodation here is basic.

Day 4: Pa Chu Ty II – Then Van – Lung Cai

After breakfast at a local homestay, the trek leads through beautiful sightseeing on the narrow footpath to the Hmong village of Then Van. Discover the daily life of the local people. Continue trekking to Lung Cai – a delightful village located on the mountainside of the Hmong area. Welcome for dinner and overnight at Mr. Ma Seo Hoa’s homestay.

Day 5:  Lung Cai – Hoang Nhi Pho – Ban Gia

Once leaving Lung Cai, following the trekking route to Hoang Nhi Pho through rice paddy and maize plantations. Lunch will be prepared and served here. After lunch, you will continue the trek toward Ban Gia village. Enjoy your dinner in a private local house and spend the night at Mr. The’s homestay.

Day 6: Ban Gia – Nan ma

Breakfast at local homestay. A great days trek, undulating sometimes steeply up and down and through natural landscapes to arrive finally at the isolated Hmong village of Nan Ma. The villagers are friendly and curious and the countryside and village are very impressionable. Spend one more night in the Hmong village of Nan Ma at Mr. Sinh’s house.

Day 7: Nam Ma – Nan Lung – Coc Pu II

The trekking is easier today and is punctuated by the exciting crossing of the Nung ethnic minority area. Reaching relative civilization of terraces of paddy fields, house tools as brick, smith and more. Have a break at Nan Lung village where the group will have lunch in a local house before continuing to the last destination of Coc Pu II village. Overnight in a comfortable house in Coc Pu, a village inhabited by the Nung minority.

Day 8: Coc Pu II – Xin Man – Hoang Su Phi

After breakfast, there are three kilometers of walking to Coc Pai town in Xin Man district of Ha Giang province. Your car will be waiting to drive you to Sin Man, one of the poorest districts which have a border with Lao Cai province and China. Lunch will be in a local restaurant. Dinner and overnight in a local guesthouse in Hoang Su Phi.

Day 9: Hong Su Phi – Tung San

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer by car to the start point of your trekking today. You will trek 15 km through the beautiful scenery and local villages. Lunch will be served at a nice spot. Continue to the Black Dao ethnic of Tung San for dinner and overnight. Mr. Tan Van Sai will have the pleasure to welcome you to his house.

Day 10: Tung San – Dan Khao – Cao Banh

After having breakfast, your trek will begin from Tung San to Dan Khao and then Cao Banh. Lunch on route. Dinner and overnight at Mr. Phan Van Dau’s homestay (Black Dzao ethnic minority).

Day 11: Cao Banh – Ban Trang – Khuoi Hop – Ha Giang

Leaving Cao Banh, you will take the trekking route to Trang village and then continue toward Khuoi Hop. Once reaching village Len in Viet Lam you will be transferred by car to Ha Giang. Dinner in town. Overnight in a hotel in Ha Giang.

Day 12: Ha Giang - Ha Long Bay via new highway .

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Hanoi via Tuyen Quang, Bac Ninh provinces. Late afternoon arrival in Halong bay for check-in. Do check-in and relax by yourself. Seafood dinner at the local restaurant. stay overnight in Halong bay

Day 13: Halong bay cruise - Hanoi

Breakfast in the hotel and transfer to Tuan Chau island and get on our traditional wooden junk and start cruising to the center of the bay. The seafood lunch is served in the dining room while the cruise ship is moving deeper into the bay for more beautiful landscapes of thousands of limestone islets such as Fighting Cocks (symbol of Halong Bay), Duck, Finger, Incense Burner, and Stone Dogs. The cruise continues and the next destination is tempting, which is Thien Cung (Heaven Palace) Grotto. Like the name it, the cave amazes even the pickiest visitors thanks to spectacular formations of thousand-year-old stalagmites and stalactites. Come back to the main vessel for the way back to Halong. Arrive at the harbor at 16:00 and get in the car right after to travel to Hanoi. Farewell dinner at the local restaurant.
